This new Liadou Marcillac comes from a special series with copper liners and rosettes, a noble metal well known to winegrowers. Its handle is horn tip and its blade is XC75 carbon steel or Sandvik 14C28.
The Liadou Marcillac, which retains all the characteristics of the original model, takes you back into the history of this emblematic AOC vineyard of south-west France, to the days when the vines across some 4000 hectares were trained and tied with wicker, itself split with a Liadou.
Naturally present in the Earth's crust, copper is essential to the development of all forms of life. It is one of the only coloured metals, along with gold and caesium. Freshly exposed surfaces show a salmon hue with magnificent highlights. Copper is prized in goldsmithing and jewellery as a base for enamelled pieces or rare enamels. Thanks to its beauty, it is also the protective metal of the goddesses Venus and Aphrodite.
Noble and rare, it is used here for the liners and for the front and back rosettes, decoratively worked by hand, of this special Liadou Marcillac.
Copper gives it a unique character and an exclusive design.
As the material varies from one handle to the next, every Liadou Marcillac is unique. Photos of the model shown are therefore for illustration only.
